Meet Ann Russo
My Approach
Lived Expertise, Radical Compassion, and Unapologetic Education
Raised in a diverse, non-traditional household, I’ve seen firsthand how identity, sexuality, and spirituality intersect in complex ways. This lived experience, combined with my professional expertise, fuels my work in dismantling stigma and expanding inclusive mental health care. Whether working with clients or training providers, I create space for healing, growth, and deeper understanding—helping others navigate these conversations with confidence and compassion.
AMR Therapy: Committed to Inclusive, Affirming Care
In 2018, I founded AMR Therapy to break barriers in mental health care. Today, our team of dedicated therapists provides affirming, accessible therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and those exploring ethical non-monogamy. Our mission is simple: to offer compassionate, identity-affirming care tailored to your journey.

Ann is all the things you want in a good therapist—empathetic, supportive, empowering, an excellent communicator, authentic, personable, and non-judgmental. She’s also whip-smart and has a delightful personality. “
Thom D.

“My partner and I found Ann’s practice online. After our initial intake, she decided she wanted to take us on as clients instead of referring us elsewhere. We valued her dedication to helping us. We’ve been in therapy for a few months and our communication has grown tremendously. We’re looking forward to continuing our couples’ journey with Ann’s support.
AP and Benton R.

“Ann helped me when I was navigating tough transitions in my career and my personal life in my early 30s. With her knowledge of the various systems in our culture and society and her support, she helped me gain the confidence I needed to create a life true to me. Ann is clear in her communications, and generous with her knowledge.”
James K.
Social Worker
“Ann is an outstanding therapist, bar none. I have a chronic condition and have been seeing Ann since 2015. When she established her private practice, I opted to pay out of pocket to keep her as my therapist. Now that’s a testimonial! “
Emily O.

“Ann is wonderful! Our sessions provided stability for me during some of the most turbulent times of my life. Ann always showed up with compassion and created a space free of judgment where I felt safe and supported to work through challenging issues. Ann’s communication was clear and direct while always being kind. Thank you for everything, Ann!”
